Al’s Fitness Center—Altamont, Kansas |
|
See-Kan administers a microloan program for small businesses in Southeast Kansas. This has helped many businesses to move to the area. One of these is Al’s Fitness Center in Altamont, KS. Our program provides up to fifty percent or $20,000 for new business start up or expansion. See-Kan provided $11,000 to help the business with startup.
The fitness center is open for business at 502 S Huston. Brian Kinzie the owner offers a wide variety of services. Brian’s business offers a fitness center, barber, beauty salon and tanning services. Becky Barr and Brian Kinzie operate the business.
The fitness center has an incumbent bicycle for people to exercise after surgery. There are two cross trainers and a treadmill. All of these are programmable and show your heart rate and calories burned. There are free weight and dial up dumbbells. An area on the floor is used for aerobics.
The Precor weight machine is an impressive piece of equipment. You can obtain 14 different exercises on this machine. There are three stations on the machine allowing three people to work out at the same time on one machine.
The tanning bed has certified technicians to help you. It is new bed with new bulbs. It is located in another part of the fitness center.
An up to date security system has been installed. “I want people to come in and feel safe,” Brian said. Members are given a door disk that enables them enter from 5 a.m. to midnight. This allows members to come in when it is convenient for them.
There are many types of memberships allowing this small Southeast Kansas town the benefits of a gym at discounted prices. Becky Barr will help set up appointments. Her shop hours ate Monday through Friday, 9 to 5 and Saturday 8 to noon. Brian's shop hours are Thursday and Friday, noon to 5 and Saturday 8 to noon.
Brian owns and operates Al’s Fitness Center in Altamont. He also owns Brian’s Barber Shop in Edna and is a Labette County Commissioner.
